Hadiths & Evidences
Hadiths & Evidences
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Actions are judged only by intentions.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Muslim)
For this reason, every Omra Badal is performed with a clear and sincere niyyah, treating it as an amanah.
A woman asked the Prophet ﷺ:
“My mother vowed to perform Hajj but passed away before doing so. Should I perform Hajj on her behalf?”
He ﷺ replied:
“Yes, perform Hajj on her behalf. If your mother had a debt, would you not repay it?
The debt owed to Allah is more deserving of being fulfilled.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)
Scholars derive from this that Hajj and Umrah may be performed on behalf of another person who is unable or deceased.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Charity does not decrease wealth.”
(Sahih Muslim)
Giving for the sake of Allah is never a loss, but a source of barakah.
